Niki McKay, Principal of Blue Danube Productions, Kirkland, WA has been awarded the prestigious ISES Esprit Award from the International Special Events Society (ISES) in the category of Best Entertainment Production Budget Under $25,000. Niki McKay has been a special event professional for 12 years. Niki McKay is also a winner of a 2009 Telly Award for Video Production in the Charitable/Not for Profit Category.

The winning Best Entertainment Production Under $25,000 event for a 2010 ISES Esprit was Energy Independence Day. A rock concert produced in the desert, in Eastern Washington atop a decommissioned Titan2 Missile Silo. Three acts performed on a symbol of global destruction, attended by 500 of the world’s greatest computer hackers, served as a launch for a new type of alternative energy designed to change the world.

Niki McKay says “Winning the ESPRIT Award is such a prestigious recognition of the work we all do. We are extremely honored to have been nominated along with so many highly respected colleagues from across the nation. The team at Blue Danube worked closely with our industry partners to harness the unique challenges of this production, allowing us to make the event phenomenal. There is no greater satisfaction than to watch attendees enjoying the creative experience. It’s what keeps us all going! “

I am thrilled to share with you that I have been honored with a Telly Award for the video, Dalton’s Story, which I produced for Children’s Hospital Guild Association.

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies. Entries are judged against a high standard of merit and evaluated to recognize distinction in creative work. The 30th Annual Telly Awards received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.

This is one of the highlights of my 14 years working as a video producer, supervising all aspects of studio productions and live events.
